Three Enter, One Weeps
Ayden Sukri
When wildlife still roamed free,
Our heroes three,
Took a ship across the sea,
To slay a dragon was their quest,
So they travelled to the west.
Along the way a hero died,
Both the other heroes sighed,
They gave each other a look of pain,
On the quest only two heroes remained.
A long while ago,
Our heroes two,
Visited a land of pandas and bamboo,
To slay a dragon was their quest,
But it was a trial only for the best.
They made their way to a monster-ridden palace,
Where there was a dragon filled with malice,
They fought and fought as hard as they could,
When the dragon was defeated only one hero still stood.
The final hero was riddled with guilt,
He hid away in a home he had built,
His perfect world began to wilt,
He spent the rest of his life completely alone,
All in a feeble attempt to atone.
He completed his quest,
But at what cost,
When the dust settled,
It was the heroes who lost.
