The Adventures of Eva and Leo

The Adventures of Eva and Leo
Cate Aslett

I see people beside me as I walk to my plane. The seats are bumped and crowded and everything is the same. “Sorry,” said a little girl, on the little seat, waiting for her plane. “Let me introduce myself, my name is Eva and I like making poems. My poems are shown for the whole world to see.”

Eva ran to the plane. She was so excited. “Eva slow down,” shouted her mom. “We are not going to miss our flight!” exclaimed her dad. “Daddy, Eva being silly,” said her baby brother, Zack.
“But I want to get on it!” shouted Eva. “We will get on it soon,” said mom. They boarded the plane. “I walked this long corridor as I got to the loooooonnnnng plane,” whispered Eva to herself as she got on the plane. It was different, the plane had Emperors, Soldiers and even Dinosaurs. “Rwaaarrr!”
Eva squinted, rubbed her eyes for a while, thinking, “Why are there people from ancient times here?”

“Uuugggaaaa Buuugggaaaa,” shouted a man with a long beard, wearing animal skins. “Pssst pssst,” said a voice, “down here!” Eva looked down and to her surprise, she saw a little lion cub. “You’ve got to get out of here!” exclaimed the little lion cub frantically. “But I can’t, my family is here,” whispered Eva in the lion cub’s ear. “You can bring your family,” said the cub. “Okay,” replied Eva. “So what’s the plan?”
“We need to get this piece out of the plane,” said the cub, pointing at a blueprint of the plane. “Okay, wait, what is your name?” said Eva. “My name is Leo,” said the cub. “Nice, my name is Eva,” she replied. “Anyway, after we get that out, we need to get back to our seats,” continued Leo.
“I am going to put you on this rope, while everyone else is in their seats,” Leo said, “then you need to take it out and throw it out of the plane.”
As Eva went down into a little compartment, she was spotted. “Stop!” said a soldier. “Rwaaarrr!” shouted the dinosaur. “What are you doing?” said the soldier. “Nothing,” said Eva as she grabbed the piece of metal and left. They threw it out of the plane. “Hold on,” said Leo “shut the door!” Eva shut the door. “Let’s go!” exclaimed Eva. “Amazing!” shouted Leo. “Okay, now we need to get to our seats,” Leo said, “follow me.”
“We’re here!” exclaimed Leo. “Look!” said Eva, starting out of her window. “Guards!” shouted Leo, “run!!!”

“Up here!” gasped Leo, jumping into a ventilation shaft. “I can’t fit in there,” replied Eva. “You will never know until you try!” Leo said. “Okay,” shouted Eva, as she climbed in. “Look it’s the pilot, let’s get back to our seats,” whispered Eva. “Agreed,” said Leo as they crawled through the ventilation shaft to their seats.

That was a long day. I can’t wait to get home and lie on my sofa, thought Eva.
