One number after the other,
Getting bigger by the minute.
A battle for the biggest,
Lost by subtraction.

Addition enlarging numbers,
Decreasing fractions.
What is its purpose,
To add or to subtract.

Multiplication increasing many species galore.
Does the mother identify the young,
or ignoring the count of them all.

Finally division, the hardest of them all.
Divide by three,
Divide by twelve,
Divide by it all.
